Riverhead Aquarium Meetup

Spend the day exploring Long Island Aquarium with fellow NYFurs members! Come enjoy the exhibits, watch the animals, and hang out with friends. 

• The location of the Long Island Aquarium is 431 East Main Street, Riverhead NY 1190. For parking information, please visit: https://www.longislandaquarium.com/plan-your-visit/directions-parking/
• Date & Time: Saturday, September 5th, 9:30 AM
• Fursuiting is allowed and encouraged! But please keep in mind that weapons or simulated weapons, including swords, bows, arrows, guns, or similar props, are not allowed on or around the aquarium's premises. If your fursuit includes any prop weapons, please leave them at home for this event.
• Invite Required: Yes. To attend this event and qualify for group-rate tickets, you must register on the event site using a valid email address.
  
  Registration will remain open after August 22nd, but group tickets will have already been purchased by then. If you sign up after that date, you're still more than welcome to join us! The only difference is that you'll need to purchase your own admission at the regular ticket price, as the group-rate discount requires everyone to enter the aquarium together.
• Minors are welcome; however, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
• Cost: The total cost for the day, including aquarium admission, food, and any shows you wish to attend, is expected to be around $70–80 per person.
  
  

🚨 Please DO NOT purchase your tickets yet! 🚨

• General admission is $57.09 after tax if purchased online, or $55.16 after tax if purchased at the aquarium with cash. However, if we secure the group rate, tickets will only be $19.66 + tax per person. That’s a huge difference!
• If you're planning to bring a +1, +2, +3, or however many guests, please let me know as soon as possible so I can include them in our final headcount.
• I'll begin collecting payment two weeks before the event. Payment instructions will be emailed to the address you used to register for this event.

• The absolute payment deadline is August 22nd, as that's the day I'll be purchasing our group tickets. If you decide to attend after that date, you're still more than welcome to join us, but you'll need to purchase your own admission at the regular ticket price.
• PLEASE NOTE: If you are receiving a group-rate ticket, you must arrive no later than 10:00 AM.
  
  The Long Island Aquarium requires that the entire group be present before check-in, so we will be entering together. Unfortunately, if you arrive after the group has entered, you will not be able to use your group-rate ticket.

Riverhead Aquarium Meetup Rules

1. First and foremost, please familiarize yourself with the aquarium’s Policies and Visitor FAQs before attending:

2. Naturally, all NYFurs rules also apply to this event.
3. The plan is to arrive at 9:30 AM on August 15th, about half an hour before the aquarium opens. This gives us time to account for anyone running late, gather everyone together, and snap a quick group photo before heading inside.
   
   Although I'm organizing the meetup, I won't be acting as a tour guide. You're welcome to attend whichever exhibits and shows interest you. Think of this like a school field trip: once everyone has arrived, we'll go over a few announcements and rules, enter the aquarium together, and then you're free to explore however you'd like.
4. I will provide my phone number to all attendees. However, if you have an immediate issue—like a medical emergency or a lost item—please contact the aquarium staff first as they are best equipped to help. The aquarium also has an on-site lost and found.
5. Last, and most importantly, have fun! There’s so much to see and do at the Long Island Aquarium. Make the most of your visit, and I hope to see you there!
