NYC FurWalk Heads to Governor's Island!
NYC FurWalk (now the flagship event under the wider NYC FurMeets organization) is back with an adventure across the high seas (the East River) to a picturesque little park called Governor's Island! We will be enjoying plenty of historical sites, beautiful views, and tons of incredible photo opportunities with the view of Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn right behind us.
So be sure to keep your calendar open and join us for a wonderful day for our first FurWalk of the fall! Hope to see you there~
Rough Schedule:
- Gathering outside Soisson's Landing/Gov. Island Welcome Center - North ferry terminal of Gov. Island.
- Check-in will open at 11am
- Step-off will start ~12pm
- We will take a group photo at designated locations on map
- Ample time for break will be given for breaks at each stop, around 15-20 minutes
- Walk is schedued to end around 4pm, but subject to vary +/- 30 mins.
Supplies
Participants are highly encouraged to bring whatever they need to keep themselves safe and cool as this is an outdoor event! Recommended supplies include:
- Water
- Fursuit Fan
- Sunscreen
- Insect Repellant
- A light snack
We will provide some of these in a cart that follows the group, but supplies will be limited. You are highly encouraged to save your water bottles for resuse at designated water filling stations where available.
Badges
- We are looking to change to PVC badges for better durability and ease of production!
- On-site registration will be supported thanks to our trusty label maker
- Deadline for badge printing is Thursday, September 25th at 11:59pm
- We highly encourage donations to help cover badge printing supplies ($5-10)
