NYC FurFlix opens its doors for the second time this week—and this time, it’s spotlighting what the furry fandom has to offer!

At Rooftop Films, a series of short films will be featured, including a furry-centered documentary titled The Reality of Hope, which includes Photographotter, a local from the NYC Metro area.

About the Film:

Filmed inside Virtual Reality (VR) and physically in Sweden, this short documentary portrays VR creator Hiyu facing kidney failure, capturing his online friend Photographotter traveling from New York City to Stockholm to be a live donor to Hiyu. Formed of poetic montages shot in real-time VR and intimate interviews, rooted in the expressive subculture of the VR furry community, the film reveals the sincerity of kindness between friends paralleled across realities.

Photographotter and Hiyu are both friends of mine—Photter lives right here in the NYC Metro, and Hiyu is based in Sweden!

🦊 The Reality of Hope is also the first furry film ever shown at the Sundance Film Festival!
